Arnett Library Wins Award

Public Library of the Year: Arnett Branch, Rochester Public Library Nominations are in and the winners of this year’s RRLC* Library of the Year contest have just been announced! Library advocates will be proud to learn that a record 1,448 people told the RRLC how much they love their library! These weren’t just one liners either. Posted April 27 – This past Saturday Arnett Boulevard from Kenwood Avenue to Rugby Avenue was transformed into The Arnett Trolley Stop District, and the event was a great success! Premiere a great success!

The Premiere of our new video, The Front Row, was a great success last night! We had a full house with about 100 in attendance representing a wide array of youth, agencies, churches, and other supporters from around the community. The video itself was deeply moving, and the panel discussion afterwards very enlightening and encouraging. Already nearly 400 DVDs have been distributed for group viewing in schools, rec centers, and youth programs throughout Rochester, and copies are traveling to NYC, Washington DC, and Atlanta. Easter Eggs in the Park

We had a great turnout and fun time again this year preparing, hiding, and letting kids find and gather Easter eggs in the neighborhood park down the street. Rora spent spare moments throughout the year finding special sales on Easter baskets and brightly colored plastic eggs just waiting to be filled with candies. Then neighbors who have been helping maintain the Bird & Butterfly Garden on the corner of Wellington Ave. and Arnett Blvd. all year long gathered to share a meal together, plan for spring planting, and stuff eggs with candies...
