What a wonderful turnout!
This year’s Bike Clinic was a great success. The weather was warm and comfortable (until a rain shower rolled in at the very end), and kids and parents started lining up at 1 pm right after the red, white, and blue R Community Bikes truck rolled in. We were privileged to give away 15 rehabbed bikes and a couple dozen brand new helmets and bike lock sets, thanks to a generous donation from the Rochester Police Department.
And as a special treat, Bruce Tehan from the Arnett Branch Library rolled in with his “Books by Bike” rig, loaded with kids’ books about bikes, and read stories to the children all afternoon.
