Neighborhood Prayerwalking

Calling all intercessors! Please invite your fellow prayer warriors and join us for a Neighborhood Prayer Walk in Rochester’s 19th Ward this coming Saturday morning, April 9. Please note that this week’s Prayer Walk may be converted into a Prayer Drive due to the weather. We had a wonderful time or prayer walking this past Saturday, and felt God’s presence and power go before us as the cloudy skies opened up into blue with glorious sunshine! We will be continuing this very important part of our ministry for the next several weeks...

Purim

The celebration of Purim will begin this Wednesday as Jewish communities worldwide commemorate the historic rescue of the Hebrew people in Persia from destruction during the time of Esther. Although it is not a major holiday, it is one of the most entertaining festivities in the Jewish calendar. According to the Old Testament account written in the book carrying her name, a beautiful young Jewish woman living in Persia named Esther was taken to the harem of Ahasuerus, King of Persia, where she became his queen. While there she discovered a...

Prayer walking underway

We appreciate your concern about the troubling disturbance* we experienced on the corner beside our Arnett Boulevard offices earlier this week. In response, the surrounding faith community was energized to join us in our first organized Neighborhood Prayerwalk on Saturday. His Branches has been teaming up with Caleb Ministries, New Life Fellowship, and other churches to cover our neighborhood in prayer and work with others in the community to redeem the streets. Over 20 men and women of faith, schooled in prayer and concerned about the...

St. Patrick’s Day

When we consider St. Patrick let’s put aside the leprechauns and shamrocks and all the fanciful trappings that have come to surround the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day for a moment and consider the man himself. Who was Patrick, and what did he do? A good place to find out is Thomas Cahill’s engrossing book, “How the Irish Saved Civilization” which clearly relates Patrick’s pivotal role in the remarkable story of Ireland’s part in maintaining Western culture while the Dark Ages settled on Europe. In...

Neighborhood Prayer Walk

We will be prayer-walking in the Arnett Boulevard neighborhood for at least the next 5 Saturdays, from this Saturday forward. The first time this Saturday begins at 11 am, coordinated by New Life Fellowship, and thereafter it will begin at 9:30 am, coordinated by Caleb Ministries. Once a month, we will be partnering with New Life in prayer walking. Also, plans are being made to prayer-walk on a week day as well. This will also accommodate those who cannot make it on Saturdays: we will let you know when that day is scheduled. Come out and join...
