We appreciate your concern
about the troubling disturbance* we experienced on the corner beside our Arnett Boulevard offices earlier this week. In response, the surrounding faith community was energized to join us in our first organized Neighborhood Prayerwalk on Saturday.
His Branches has been teaming up with Caleb Ministries, New Life Fellowship, and other churches to cover our neighborhood in prayer and work with others in the community to redeem the streets.
Over 20 men and women of faith, schooled in prayer and concerned about the welfare of the people in the 19th Ward community, gathered at New Life, joined together in prayer, and then fanned out in groups of 3 to walk designated “beats” in the neighborhood praying as they went and talking with pedestrians and residents. It was an energizing experience for all involved, including walkers, business establishments, residents, and members of the Rochester Police Department who were there to ensure that the event was calm.
Everyone who participated came back with positive stories about experiencing the neighborhood first-hand and the encouraging times they had in prayer and conversation with those they encountered along the way.
We will be going out every Saturday for the foreseeable future from 11 am to 1 pm prayer walking and laying foundations for the spiritual renewal of our community. If you or your church would be interested in joining us, please contact Vera McCollough at 585-402-8493 for more information.

The testimony of the victim’s friend, however, appears to be a cover up for a teen who was hanging out in the neighborhood during school hours and voluntarily involved in activities that put him in harm’s way. Please join us in prayer for this young man, his family, other young people who are at similar risk, and our entire community.
