Winter Update

The Arnett Block Association has been active this winter! Thanks to your generosity we were able to provide warm jackets, gloves and hats to needy children at School #29. About 300 children walked to the Arnett Bird & Butterfly Park with handmade ornaments for our 15-foot community Christmas tree. Later in December, we also hosted a well-attended caroling event around the tree with hot cocoa, popcorn and Christmas Nativity coloring books for the kids.

This winter we’ve helped organize a Music Series at the Arnett Library with music students from Eastman and other local talent – a great way to spend a Saturday! We’re now planning for the Bike Clinic on May 9 and our Block Party coming up on August 1.

Our work continues this year with the Front Row Coalition – a grass roots committee including the RPD, Rochester City School District, Rochester Youth Violence Partnership and a number of concerned citizens, creating a 15 minute anti-gun violence video. It’s nearing completion and is truly powerful. It will be shown in the city schools, rec and youth centers, and through social media. Visit www.RocFrontRow.com and please keep this project in prayer as it debuts!
