Greetings!
This is just a brief letter to extend our thanks to God and to all of the workers who helped to make Saturday’s Neighborhood Celebration an incredible success!
We had dynamic live hip hop music artists, delicious food for over 200 people, an exciting Children’s program with Bible stories, treats, prizes, Bangles the Clown, face painting…oh yes, and a beautiful day without rain! Most importantly, we had the preaching of the Good News of Jesus Christ, which led to salvation for 7 adults and 25 children. Praise be to God!
All of these activities, were made possible by deeply caring and loving people of God. I would like to take this opportunity to highlight a few of these servant leaders:
- thanks to Sister Trisch and her team for serving all day, leading children in a variety of fun and inspirational activities
- thanks to Bangles the Clown, who delighted many children with free balloons, smiles, and big hugs;
- thanks to our Hip Hop artists, but especially to Brother D-Will whose personal connection to the community and whose hip hop ministry was so anointed that it captivated a large audience, including gang members and drug dealers. Seven (7) adults responded to the altar call that followed.
- thanks to Brother Alton who did the cooking on the grill, serving between 200 and 250 people;
- thanks to Pastor Michael for the sound system support;
- thanks to Pastor Russ and the Father’s Heart Ministry for making a significant contribution to this event with food and drink products;
- thanks to Brother Elias whose EMCEE appeal drew people to the Neighborhood Celebration and touched the hearts of others who chose to listen from a distance;
- thanks to the men and women who served on the ministry team, interacting one-on-one with people and offering prayer for expressed needs
- thanks to Dr. Bill and his wife Susan, for their many years of providing godly family medical care services and community outreach in the 19th ward, which made possible this Neighborhood Celebration!
For these and all others who served, participated, gave financially, or prayed, we give thanks!
All for His Glory,
Gary E. Ham
