Our Tree is Up!
Thanks to the generous donation from Don and Connie at The 1792 Filigree Inn of a wonderful tree for our Bird & Butterfly garden and a dedicated group of friends and neighbors, our 2015 Christmas Tree is up and illuminated! Decorating time If you can spare some time this coming Thursday morning, December 10, from 9 to 1 we’ll be hosting hundreds of kids from School #29 who will be walking to the garden park with their teachers and carrying the ornaments they’ve made in their art classes to decorate the tree. After each class has put up their ornaments, they will be going...

It’s been a late fall with heavy leaves, acorns, and walnuts on the ground, surrounded by branches and large “twigs” blown down by the wind. Our main parking lot, back yard, courtyard, and side parking lot have been full, but now they’re empty, thanks to good brothers helping! Earlier this week Harry used a leaf blower to clear and bag about 6 large rubbish bags of leaves from the main parking lot, and today a crew from the youth group at Joy Community Church came over and completed the job on both sides of the building, harvesting a huge pile of 30 bags of leaves and...

The Arnett Block Association garden committee won an award at the City of Rochester’s annual volunteer appreciation event held at the Strong Museum yesterday evening. Volunteers and friends of the garden were in cheerful attendance to celebrate with us, tour the Museum, and catch up with other gifted gardeners and dedicated volunteers from all over the city. It was an encouraging event for all with special kudos for our wonderful neighbors. Let’s give them all a hand – or better still, lend a hand in the garden to help out with what they’re doing in our...

As our children and staff get ready for another school year we thought this would be a helpful gathering for us, especially the families… all are welcome –...

Wednesday night, August 19th, will ring in the minds and hearts of our neighborhood and the Rochester community for years to come. It was a night that started out with some good, clean fun at a Boys and Girls Club basketball game on Genesee Street, right across from Wilson High School in Rochester’s 19th Ward and within several blocks of our main ministry offices. When the game was over a crowd of kids poured out into the Club parking lot beside Westside Health Services and hung out for a while talking, laughing, and playing around with one another. After a while the crowd dispersed,...
