19th Ward Survey Report

This provided us with an awareness and sense of the “spiritual needs” within the neighborhood. After the initial two weeks of prayer walking, our teams began conducting surveys with the people they met while prayer-walking. The survey was a list of questions which when answered would provide a clearer understanding of the “felt needs” within the neighborhood. The importance of this information is expressed by the...

Neighbors Celebrating!

Greetings! This is just a brief letter to extend our thanks to God and to all of the workers who helped to make Saturday’s Neighborhood Celebration an incredible success! We had dynamic live hip hop music artists, delicious food for over 200 people, an exciting Children’s program with Bible stories, treats, prizes, Bangles the Clown, face painting…oh yes, and a beautiful day without rain!  Most importantly, we had the preaching of the Good News of Jesus Christ, which led to salvation for 7 adults and 25 children.  Praise be to God! All of these activities, were made possible by deeply caring...

Passover 2016

The festival of Passover or Pesach, will begin on Friday as Jewish communities worldwide commemorate the liberation of the Israelites from slavery, in one of the important festivities in the Jewish calendar. We will be continuing this very important part of our ministry for the next several weeks and encourage you to invite church members and...

Purim

The celebration of Purim will begin this Wednesday as Jewish communities worldwide commemorate the historic rescue of the Hebrew people in Persia from destruction during the time of Esther. Although it is not a major holiday, it is one of the most entertaining festivities in the Jewish calendar. According to the Old Testament account written in the book carrying her name, a beautiful young Jewish woman living in Persia named Esther was taken to the harem of Ahasuerus, King of Persia, where she became his queen. While there she discovered a plot being developed by the king’s chief...
